My Mom told me to take out the trash. Less than 2000 people live here. I decided I’ll go to school today. Last summer an officer was sprayed with mace. I swore I’d never tell. The man was shot. I hate doing the dishes. A murder never solved. We are suffocating. He held my heart in both hands and crushed it so easily like glass. As a cheerleader I know how to yell. We all know who did it. Brace face, railroad tracks, and metal mouth were my other names in middle school. He pushed me. Meth is a natural thing around here. The disaster. The school building is old and boring. The basement is so cold in the winter. Dinner as a family. A system that supports sexism. He died in his bed. My inhaler is always lost. I used to go to church and had hope. We all just want to feel something. The buildings on the square are slowly tumbling. The school textbooks are older than my grandma. Blank shots. We are a mess. It’s so easy to get your hands on anything that you are looking for. We all know who did it. The 98’ Saturn with a sunroof. His bully pushed him too far. He held me. Underage drinking. Please Jesus if you’re listening heal this world. Casey’s pizza. I loved him more than anyone I’ve ever met. I’m scared I’ll never leave. Unplanned pregnancies. 2,000 people all in one space. A zombie without the morning brew. We don’t feel like people anymore. Mountain dew, Busch Light, Copenhagen, and abuse. Well known for our big rodeo. Cigarette smoke in her lungs. The knife pierced his skin. I can’t breathe. Injection. He took me to his truck. Not just a small town a culture. Please take her with you. The smell of molasses. Needles cleaner than our roads. I’ll do my best. The town empties during the day. Don’t worry. If your good at sports that’s all that matters. His father gave no explanation. Local grocery store bombarded when the weatherman calls for a storm. I wish you all the best. They vandalized the cemetery. I didn’t eat for four days. She died too young. The scars are slowly fading. Less than two minutes to get from one end of town to the other. The music is beautiful in my ears. Convenient Store candy. Please don’t ever leave. Friday night football. We all know. God bless this land. The boy who pretends he is happy though he’s broken on the inside. I’m here. We used to steal candy bars from Conoco. Her veins were filled with chemicals. The ammunition shoots through the phone screen. Across the street there is a faint streetlight. A murder suicide haunts this town. My father gave no explanation. Please don’t yell at me. A minor. The warmth washed over. Alcoholism at its finest. My morals are on a vacation. The house that is broken down. The fatherless children. The sky radiates. I don’t care anymore. Imminent danger. Kids trick or treating at my front door. A phone becomes an assault weapon. We are okay. The worse is yet to come. He misses his mom. The screen shot sends her in a spiral. We can’t breathe. Complete destruction. My mom told me to wash the dishes.
